We do not necessarily agree with every word written by the following authors. We are in general agreement with these articles, or we would not have posted them, however please do not assume that we agree with every individual statement. If you desire clarification on any particular point, we would be happy to provide it.

If you have files that you would like for us to consider for posting to the internet, please email Elder Greg Wilson at: libcfl@aol.com . We are primarily interested in Old Baptist writers, though we will consider more contemporary writings as well.

We are grateful to Bryan Station Baptist Church, Lexington, KY for permitting us to share the works of C. D. Cole. Church Truths

A Sermon on Church History
by Elder W. C. Arnold

We would take exception to some of the statements made by Elder Arnold. In particular, we believe that practice of "footwashing" (as a church ordinance) is of relatively recent origin. We do, however, stand with these brethren in their opposition to "missionary societies," but would also stand in opposition to the associationalism of many who call themselves "Primitive" Baptist. We consider ourselves independent Baptists of the "Old School" variety. We believe that the various statements cited in Elder Arnold's sermon shows that the earliest Baptist were so inclined as well.

The Truth About Christmas
by R. F. Becker

Mr. Becker is a protestant and writes from that perspective. We must admit, however, that the warning he sounds against participation in Roman paganism is, if anything, even more appropriate for Baptists than for protestants. Mr. Becker exhibits more spiritual discernment than the majority of those who would today profess themselves "Baptists." He would seem closer to practicing "the faith once delivered unto the saints" than those modern "Baptists" who join Rome in her abominations.

Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage

The following articles deal with the plague of divorce and remarriage that is sweeping the Lord's churches today. In the pew it is a great heartbreak, but increasingly it is becoming common in the pulpit as well. It is always sin before God.

Historic Landmark Baptist, above all others, should understand the mysteries of the kingdom as they relate to marriage and the picture of Christ and His church that should be portrayed by it. Landmark Independent Baptist Church of Archer, Florida will not knowingly fellowship with churches who see fit to call or maintain "ordained adulterers" as pastors.

While we would not necessarily agree with every interpretation or statement of the following authors, we do believe that their articles are much needed calls for a return to the old paths of our forefathers concerning the responsibilities and sanctity of our marriage vows.
